# Cardiff AI start-up secures Welsh Government funding for data security technology

Nation.Cymru reports on Aventail™ 's Welsh Government SMART Flexible Innovation Support funding to develop data security technology for businesses using AI.

Nation.Cymru reported on 2 November 2026 that Aventail ™ has secured Welsh Government funding through the SMART Flexible Innovation Support programme to develop and test technology that controls where and how AI tasks are processed. The funding amount has not been disclosed.
